How to store hijabs.
Ever get that raised eyebrow from your husband while you’re looking for a matching hijab for your outfit, and when you find it (ah-ha there it is) about 20 hijabs fall out at the same time!? Every time I pull out a hijab from my closet, this always happens to me! I’ve tried storing them in several different ways:
1. Fold them neatly and place them in woven boxes you get buy from ikea, but the problem with that was I never used to remember which scarves are at the bottom, so I created more mess and then dumped them back in (without folding) otherwise I (or we) would be late to an event.
2. I used to roll them and store them in my chest of drawers, but that took up so much space and by the next day they were a total mess. Plus the chest of drawers used to get this musty smell…
3. I bought a few hijab hangers that worked well for a while until they broke and snapped. I have lots of hijabs, so they weighed a lot, when I hung them the hangers that are made for hijab could not handle the weight.
So I popped out the other weekend to one of my favourite stores called Tiger , (imagine Ikea but much more quirkier and smaller) and found these beautiful flower hangers with plenty of loop holes to hang my scarves. I have been using them for a week now and it is the most practical way for me, and the most cheapest alternative (only £3 per hanger). Also, with plenty of room in each loop hole, I was able to snag a scarf each day for work without any of the others falling! Amazing! With the beautiful mint green and aqua colour, velvety touch, so scarves stay put, what’s not to love?
