five days. five essential items.

Packing for holiday is always a stressful feat, with the constant pressure to pack light and only take what you ‘need’ (as my husband would say), when you feel like you need everything you own! Being a bit of an over-packer, I try to take mini toiletries wherever possible to make maximum space for more shoes! Out of sheer excitement for our holiday in just 5 days, here are my top 5 ‘essentials,’ ha! (minus the clothing, of course)

1. bright lipsticks.
Going abroad just makes even more fun to play around with colourful bright lipsticks. Nothing screams holiday like a cheerful pop of pink/coral/red on your lips. So at the top of my hit list are my MAC faves: Embrace me, Candy YumYum, Lady Danger and Viva Glam Nicki.

2. moroccan oil.
I absolutely love this oil. It adds shine to your hair, restores the natural luster and it also detangles your hair! This is perfect when you want spray on something quick especially on holiday.

3. wide brim hat.
A hat is another essential holiday item – you don’t want to get your head burnt. Hats also give great protection for your head and eyes and will make being out in your summer holiday heat much easier! They’re also great for making a fashion statement too and can complete any outfit. I wear this floppy straw hat from ASOS by the pool even on top of my hijab ☺ You can get one similar from here.

4. nars blusher.
Cheat the effortless beach babe golden glow with NARS blush in orgasm. One glide and it immediately enlivens the complexion. This colour also suits all skin tones and its perfect just to quickly dab or glide on before popping downstairs for some hotel breaky.

5. sun cream.
Sun cream is THE holiday essential. We all know the dangers of the sun. I love this Garnier one, my husband and I use a spray one which is easy to apply frequently when walking around all day.

And that’s it from me! Aloe vera gel, insect repellent, after sun spray etc all packed in too!

What are your holiday hair essentials? Going away anywhere nice this Summer?
