With baby boom season in full swing over the next couple of months, I thought I’d share with all of you the baby shower Zohra and I planned over the weekend. We wanted to throw Natasha a baby shower as soon as we heard the great news and started planning the big day straight away. The only thing Natasha knew was the guest list (she had to help with it), but that was it! The theme was of course, nursery rhymes!
A few months prior we sent out this adorable invitation (had to cover the address and my number)
We decided to go a little nuts on the details! We spent months planning all the little details and designing the circles and different labels for each dish. We decided early on the blue and yellow theme and based all our décor around these colours. The silverware and napkin combos had special wraps – “And the dish ran away with the spoon.” For our centrepieces, we used milk jars and filled them with bright flowers with the tag “A Pocket Full of Posies”.
Next up…the yummy goodness that was our food!!
So, as I mentioned our whole theme was nursery rhymes, since I didn’t get a tonne of close ups of the tags/circles, we had the following:
Cheese and crackers= Three Blind mice
Veggies and dip= Mary, Mary, quite contrary
Humous and pita bread= Little Jack Horner
Lamb mince dumplings= Diddle, diddle dumplings
Salad= Round and round the garden
Lamb pie= Mary had a little lamb
Veggie pasta= Yankee doodle
This little piggy assortment of sandwiches= This little piggy had…
Chicken pie= Three little kittens
Ice Cream Cone Cupcakes = I Scream, You Scream, We All Scream For Ice Cream
Oreo dessert= Georgie Porgie pudding cups
Fruit tarts= Queen of hearts
Fruit bowl= Rock a bye baby
Chocolate Covered Pretzels with Star Sprinkles = Twinkle Twinkle Little Star
Bucket of sweets= What are little girls and boys made of?
For drinks we had the following:
Coffee and Tea = Polly Put the Kettle On
A Bucket of Bottled Water = Jack & Jill
Fruit Punch = Punch and Judy
Orange juice= Oranges and lemons
And finally….the oh so adorable favours! These nursery cupcakes were made by tyza cakes and you can check out their FB page here.

It was such a beautiful afternoon, it just flew by so quickly. Thank you again bunches and bunches and bunches to Zohra and all the girls who brought a dish to match the theme. I hope you all had as much fun as we did!! A big thanks to Sabiha for organising the games too. Check out these decorated onesies and bibs:
